Introduction
Novy Jicin offers a cultural-rich environment , namely in the town’s cultural institutions such as Beskydske theatre, the Town’s Cultural Centre, Kveten cinema, and the Novy Jicin gallery.
The Town’s Cultural Centre organizes cultural events. One of the largest annual events is cultural summer, from June until September, ending with a traditional town festival.
Events, such as exhibitions, concerts, and poetry evenings take place in Galerka club, Archa tearoom, and Old Post café. Skalky amphitheatre offers space for cultural events as well. Theatre performances of Novy Jicin’s and guesting theatre corps are carried out in stone theatre on Skalky.
The town’s library ensures the library services in the newly reconstructed Czeiczner villa on Husova street.
Beskydy thetre organizes theatre performances and classical and pop concerts, with prominent theatre corps guesting. In the lobby, several exhibitions take place.
It is also possible to visit the Kveten cinema that screens two films a day. More demanding audience can see club films in the Biograf ARTeFAKT on Slovanska street. In summer, the summer cinema in Smetanovy sady is in operation.
Last but not least, there is the Novy Jicin gallery and its exhibitions and events that complete the course of cultural events in the town.

Novy Jicin town offers several possibilities to do sport.
Near the town centre, there are modern premises of indoor and outdoor swimming pools including a roller coaster. There is a sports hall as well, in which well-known local basketball players train, and play their matches. Stadium, tennis courts, and indoor winter stadium also belong to the town’s sport premises. On B. Martinu street, we would recommend the sport facility in “Tatrovanka” that offers bowling, tennis, squash, and badminton courts, sauna, hydromassage bath, and build-up room.
